After talking to many people in IDPs, all they wanted to say Thanks to Pepsi who brighten their temporary homes there. IDPs are people who are homeless till operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Wazirstan, Pakistan.

Army transferred them to these temporary homes while there is operation running in Wazirstan. After the operation Pakistan army has decided to covert them back to their houses and make beautiful homes, roads, schools, hospitals and parks in Wazirstan.

Some thousands of IDPs are currently being transferred back to their homes and rest of them are ready to be transfer. Now in their temporary homes, Pepsi surprised them by firing beautiful lantern made of 1.5 liter bottles.

These lantern made of Pepsi are currently being hanged by Pepsi right out side every IDP campus. Today all we want to say ‘Thank you’ to Pepsi company who showed mercy instead of government.

Outstanding fight between hounds and cobra

Cobra is known for its dangerous venom that it keeps in its teeth. Whenever it is about to attack any

incoming danger, it spit out the venom.

Video dekhen http://www.meriwadi.com/outstanding-fight-between-hounds-and-cobra/

Most of the times, king cobra is aimed to spit the venom in the eyes of the opponent. But even if it

don’t reach the eyes, king cobra also bites the other  opponent.

This is amazing battle in which a king cobra had to face 5 different hounds. These are no ordinary

dogs but they are trained hounds.

This video was made by a tourist who was visiting the South of the Spain. Spain is one of the most

loved tourist destinations and people spend  millions of dollars on their holidays.

But no one travelling to Spain had ever expected all this.

10 Things Pakistan Does Best

10 Things Pakistan Does Best
1) You visit/live in Pakistan and you don’t try a paan? Impossible. Now I’m not saying that one has to get addicted to it, but there won’t be much harm in trying it at least once, right? Try it. You’ll know how good it tastes then.
paan
2) In a country with paan kiosks scattered around, how can one possibly miss the paan-stained pavements or corners? They chew, take in the flavors and spit. Voila! Disgusting to see, but one just has to get used to seeing such a sight when in Pakistan.
spit
3) Here’s to the mouth-watering foods/drinks that cannot be missed. Whether we’re talking about gol guppay, gola gandda, gannay ka rass, Javed ki nihari, chai from Café Piyala, channa chaat, halwa puri, Haleem etc—you will not forget their tastes for a very long time. I won’t even make an effort of translating these foods and drinks into English because the local titles suit them best.

4) So you’re roaming around in any city in Pakistan and you don’t come across these trucks or buses? Impossible! They are accessorized and painted in the most beautiful manner ever! And do keep your ears open for the jingles even while in traffic.
buses
5) And then there’s the literature side on the streets too. If you know how to read Urdu, stay ready to read poems and quotes written on trucks and rickshaws that will leave you laughing at times. Although you may also come across poetry in English too sometimes. Whether it is maa ki duaa Jannat ki hawa or barhay hokay truck banoonga (written on rickshaws), you will get it all!

6) Here’s a promise: Our designers will give you the best when it comes to fabric shopping in summer. Not only are cities crowded with billboards advertising various lawn brands in in the season, but also jam-packed exhibitions. So here’s to something that we are definitely proud of.

7) Music on the street: Have you come across a dhol-wala in a yellow kurta and a turban on his head practicing on a pavement of a busy road? Beat that!

Dhol

8) We may not be producing movies like Hollywood or Bollywood, but try to compete us when it comes to television dramas. Oh yes, they aren’t about hundreds of episodes or the same stories repeating over and over again. Nor are they about heavy jewelry or bridal dresses. We are proud of the Pakistani drama industry.

Dramas

9) Have you come across thellay (hand-driven carts) selling bhuttay, limopani, kulfi, vegetables, raw fish, second-hand clothing etc? The thellay walas go around singing or screaming out loud telling the people what they are selling. These are like shops on the doorstep.

Kulfi

10) Hello cricket! We don’t care if our national team loses (accept on that very day). But hey, we love our mohalla (neighborhood) cricket. If one cannot understand cricket while living in Pakistan, then do ask that person: “Is everything alright with you?” Nothing better than hitting the ball towards someone’s car or house and breaking windows. And let us not forget those adults who walk out every now and then to yell at the players and also refuse to return the ball if it enters their territory.

What Does the New Budget Hold for ME?

What Does the New Budget Hold for ME?\

Everybody knows that Pakistan has had an acute energy crisis for the past four years. All we get are tall claims and no results at all. And – not surprisingly – the budget doesn’t address this area as it should have!
Growth has been persistently low. This coupled with the ever-increasing youth population of the country is taking the unemployment problem to a whole new level (not to mention the other evils that this phenomenon brings about). The new budgetary measures will create jobs to the tune of around a 100,000 (including internships) ……. should we jump for joy???
The disparity between income and poverty is on a steady rise and you guessed right… the budget hardly addresses this issue…”Roti”, “kapra”, “makaan” anyone????
Another highlight of our economic turmoil is a high inflation rate and low growth. An approximate 10% inflation might seem low as compared to the 25% of 2008, BUT it’s still on the higher side. Add to this the cumulative effect of inflation of the past four years and you can imagine what a crippling effect this has on the public.
SO WHY DO I TITLE THIS POST AS “WHAT DOES THE BUDGET HOLD FOR ME?”
Because I’m kind of selfish. The budget – despite all its drawbacks – has a silver lining and that is a reduction in taxes for the salaried class. Yes, us people…the common man…the ones that are obliged to pay taxes as they are deducted at source :@
As far as I can recall this will be the first year since I entered the workforce that I will actually get some tax relief. I remember one year where I changed tax slabs TWICE in one year due to the effects of an increment and bonuses at different times during the year L.
The question everyone is asking of course is ‘Why?’ With corruption, crime and misery at its height and the government the most hated – maybe ever – why this sudden relief?
Well if you ask me it probably has something to do with the fact that the elections are just around the corner and I’m sure you’ll hear of this in the speeches of every PPP candidate when the time comes.
Now back to the good stuff: fewer taxes! So you’re probably wondering how much less you will actually have to pay. Well don’t fret, I am here for you. I’ve made the following breakdown for your ease of REFERENCE. Caveat: please don’t go around swearing by my calculations. :p

I don’t really agree with such a huge tax relief for people earning more than 300k a month, but I shouldn’t be one to complain when I’m getting a good enough relief myself.

QMobile – Pakistan’s Rising Star

QMobile – Pakistan’s Rising Star
QMobile is an amazing success story to come out of Pakistan!
As you may know, QMobile is the largest selling phone brand in Pakistan today. It’s a Karachi based company which was set up approximately 6 years ago by Mian Pervez Akhtar. The growth that it has seen in the last six years is staggering.
QMobile began its journey by selling low-end phones to the Pakistani people. Back then people thought it was just another Chinese company selling substandard phones in Pakistan. Although QMobile does not manufacture its own devices – it imports them from China – it has managed to distinguish itself and firmly establish itself as a Pakistani brand.

Marketing Genius

QMobile’s great success over the years since its inception is in large part due to its marketing strategy. They had well thought out marketing campaigns, targeted advertisements and pricing, and clearly understood the core market for their models.
QMobile still sells low-end phones priced between PKR 3,000-6,000, but you don’t think about this when you drool over their higher end models that sell for 30K+. Being able to distinguish a brand in such a way is commendable.
Their strategy has proven to be so successful in fact that they have overtaken several international brands in Pakistan, including Samsung, LG and Motorola; this despite the fact that these brands also have low end phones available in the market. We have now also begun to see local brands like Voice Mobile trying to emulate what QMobile has achieved, but with a lesser degree of success.

The Turning Point

The turning point for QMobile came when they began using star power and aired glossy adverts on television. It began with celebrities like Iman Ali and Fawad Khan, and today they are selling the world’s slimmest smart phone from the hands of Indian style diva, Sonam Kapoor.
What made their marketing so effective seems to be their deep understanding of their target market which gave them this edge. QMobile caters to the lower and middle class audience, which identifies with both Pakistani and Indian actors and actresses. QMobile understood this connection and used these personalities to perfection; roping in names like Kareena Kapoor and Aditiya Roy Kapoor from Bollywood; and Fawad Khan and Atif Aslam locally.
According to insider information, QMobile’s advertising budget in Pakistan is larger than that of Nokia. Just goes to show how important this aspect is in its success.
QMobile is now trying to capitalize on its success in the mobile market and entering the tablet market with QTab’s.
We all wish QMobile lots of success in this new endeavor! Apple and Samsung watch out!
